The clock is ticking down to the Pioneer Museum of Alabama’s Biennial Quilt show set to open on March 1 and will close on March 29.

Only a few quilts remain to be hung and already visitors to the museum are taking a sneak-peak.

Barbara Tatom, museum director, said the variety of the quilts makes the 2025 Pioneer Museum of Alabama’s Biennial Quilt Show especially interesting and …fun.

“The variety of quilts and patterns has been the reason for the museum’s Biennial Quilt Show each year,” Tatom said. “And, I’m sure it will be again.”

The museum’ s collection of quilts always capture’s the interest of those who attend the show, even those who are not quilters.

“The museum’s Crazy Quilts and the Signature Quilts are two quilts in the museum collection and, quilters who know about quilts with historical significance are impressed with, and appreciative of, the museum’s quilt collection,” Tatom said.

Camille Hedden’s Chapel Quilt; “Boy and Girl” from Jack McLoud’s collection and Cowboys & Wagon by Bea McKnatt  bring back memories for the old days.

Tatom said, the variety of this year’s quilt show, is encouragement to go back and view favorites again, and sometimes again.

The Pioneer Museum of Alabama’s 2025 Biennial Quilt Show is included the museum’s regular ticket price.

That museum is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
