The Pike County Commission is planning to demolish the old Shellhorn Primary School.

Commission Chairman Chad Copeland said the county had the building inspected for asbestos and the report indicated there was asbestos in the building.

Copeland said the county would need to have the asbestos removed before demolition could take place.
