Charles Henderson splits baseball doubleheader

This weekend the Charles Henderson Trojans split a doubleheader with Luverne and Prattville-Christian. 

In the first game, the Trojans run-ruled Luverne with a 12-0 victory in just five innings. Clay Johnson led CHHS at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs and one run, while Cole Pugh scored two runs. Wes Templin also went 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and one run. 

Chase Vaznaian pitched four innings and struck out four batters, while giving up one hit and no runs. Dylan Westberg also pitched one inning and struck out two batters, while giving up no hits and preserving the shutout. Kellen Stewart totaled five putouts on defense. 

The Trojans followed that up with a 13-5 loss to Prattville-Christian. Cole Pugh went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, while Cooper Johnson went 1-for-2 with a double, one RBI, two runs and two stolen bases. 

Templin pitched four and 1/3 innings, striking four four batters and giving up 10 hits and five earned runs. Wilson Jones also struck out a pair of batters, while giving up three hits and two earned runs in one inning on the mound. Stewart totaled eight putouts on defense.
