The Alabama TREASURE Forest Association Pike County Chapter, in coordination with the Alabama Forestry Commission and the Pike County Master Gardeners, will host a FREE TREE GIVEAWAY Wednesday February 26 at the Troy Sportsplex Parking Lot beginning at 11 a.m., rain or shine.

Debra Huggins-Davis, Pike County Chapter member, said the free tree giveaway is an excellent opportunity to get a variety of trees that are ideal for home lawns as well as extended areas.

Huggins-Davis said the trees available for the giveaway are Persimmon, Pecan, Swamp White Oak, Red Bud, Red Maple, Bald Cypress, Flowering Dogwood and CrabApple.

The trees are ideal for new areas or, in addition to areas that need ornamental trees.

Although the master gardeners will be busy at the Tree Giveaway, they invite those, who want to know more about gardening to consider becoming a member of the Pike County Master Gardeners.’
