The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge will celebrate Black History on Saturday by “Remembering Our Roots”

Diane Childers, library director, said there are many ways to celebrate history and, on Saturday, the Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library will celebrate history with stories, music and dance.

Henry Everett, local musician, will open the “Celebrate Black History” program, followed by interpretive dancing by Power Praise and Deliverance Temple.

Then, Altheal Randolph, storyteller, for the “Remembering Our Roots” Black History program will share a treasury of stories from her childhood growing up in Alabama, Childers said.

“Her stories will include stories of black doll collecting and its importance to her as a black child in the South,” Childers said.

“In addition to an outstanding presentation, refreshments will be available with time to share our own stories while enjoying the fellowship of friends and neighbors,” Childers said. “And everyone is invited.”

The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library is located on South Main Street next to the historic Bass House.
