High School Softball: Pike County throttles Daleville to earn first win

The Pike County Lady Bulldogs (1-3) earned their first win of the season on Tuesday, defeating the Daleville Lady Warhawks by a score of 21-0. 

Paloma Munoz had a big day at the plate for PCHS, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, four stolen bases, two RBIs and four runs. Abigail Griffin also went 3-for-3 with a triple, three stolen bases, one RBI and two runs. Leah Dixon went 3-for-4 with an RBI, two runs and four stolen bases. Kylan Wilkerson went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, while Hailey Griffin went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, one RBI and three runs. Pike County had 21 hits as a team and stole 22 bases on the day. 

Wilkerson pitched a no-hitter, striking out four batters and giving up no hits or runs in two innings pitched. Morgan Gardner also earned four putouts on defense. 

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans (0-1) opened the season on Tuesday with an 18-1 loss to Brewbaker Tech. 

Jada Jones earned a double and a run for the Lady Trojans, while Janazia Cantlow pitched two innings and struck out two batters, while giving up six hits and six earned runs. Camille Lewis also pitched one inning and struck out a batter, while giving up four hits and one earned run. 

The Zion Chapel Lady Rebels (2-2) fell 10-0 to Wicksburg on Tuesday. Shea Wambles earned the only ZCHS hit. Riley Bannin pitched five innings and struck out seven batters, while giving up nine hits and six earned runs. 

The Goshen Lady Eagles (0-1) opened up their season on Tuesday with a 15-3 loss to Class 5A Carroll. Macie McAliley went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI and a run, while Kenna Senn scored one run. Samyra Williams pitched two innings and struck out one batter, while giving up 10 hits and 12 earned runs.
