The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge will celebrate Black History on Saturday by “Remembering Our Roots”

Diane Childers, library director, said a special event is planned for 10 a.m. and everyone is invited.

The storyteller for the ‘Remembering Our Roots’ Black History program ‘will be Altheal Randolph who is a storyteller, humanitarian, physician, associate, advocate, educator and founder of the Sister Woman Project for AIDS in Kenya.

“Altheal brings to us a treasury of stories from her childhood growing up in Alabama,” Childers said. “Her stories include stories of black doll collecting and its importance to her as a black child in the South.”

Henry Everett, local musician, will open the Celebrate Black History program with music.

“In addition to an outstanding presentation, refreshments will be available with time to share our own stories while enjoying the fellowship of friends and neighbors,” Childers said. “And everyone is invited.”

The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library is located on South Main Street next to the historic Bass House.
