Troy University Athletics has a big weekend of sports action lined up this weekend, including a nationally televised men’s basketball game with Sun Belt Conference Tournament implications.

The Troy men’s basketball team is currently tied for second place in the Sun Belt, behind Arkansas State at first place. Troy will play Arkansas State on the road Saturday, Feb. 15, in a game that will air nationally on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. A win over Arkansas State would move Troy into first place of the conference for the first time this season.

Seeding in the Sun Belt is more important than ever this season with the new format of the Conference Tournament. The new format for the tournament, which takes place March 4-10, will see the top two seeds in the conference receive quintuple byes directly into the Conference Semifinals.

This game is considered one the conference’s biggest regular season matchups and as a result, Baumhower’s Victory Grille in Troy will be hosting a special Watch Party alongside Troy Athletics on Saturday night. Baumhowers’ wall-to-wall TVs will be tuned into the Troy game and all fans that attend the Watch Party will receive a free complimentary ticket to the Feb. 20 game between Troy and Louisiana at Trojan Arena. All fans in attendance will also be entered into a chance to win a pair of courtside tickets to the same game.

The Trojan women are at home this Saturday for an afternoon matchup with Southern Miss at 3:33 p.m. at Trojan Arena. Troy is currently tied for third place in the conference and looks to stay in the top three with another win.

Troy Baseball also opens the season this weekend with a series against Bellarmine. The Trojans come into the season ranked No. 25 in the entire country, the only team in the Sun Belt and State of Alabama to be ranked in the Top 25. Troy will play Bellarmine on Feb. 14 at 4 p.m., at noon on Feb. 15 and close out the series on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.

Trojan Softball will also continue the Cardinal Clash, its second straight home tournament to begin the season, with a game against Eastern Illinois on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Troy faces Western Kentucky at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and closes out the Cardinal Clash on Feb. 16 against Eastern Illinois at 11:30 a.m. and Alabama State at 2:30 p.m. Troy Softball also hosts the ACC’s Georgia Tech on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m.
