The Pioneer Museum of Alabama will host its 2025 Biennial Quilt Show March 1-29.

Barbara Tatom, director of the Pioneer Museum of Alabama, said the show will showcase age-old quilts a well as quilts from the days when America was just being settled until present day 2025.

“We welcome quilts of all sizes and shapes. We welcome bed quilts, baby quilts, lap quilts, wall hangings and chair covers,” Tatom said. “The quilt show will showcase the different patterns from the early days of our country until now.

“It is interesting and fun to locate patterns by name or design. Many patterns are the same in different parts of the country; they are just called by different names.”

Each quilt will be registered, tagged and very carefully handled, Tatom said. “Already, a lot of interest is being shown in displaying quilts. The museum’s biennial quilt show always generates a lot of interest among quilters and also those who just enjoy viewing the quilters handiwork, then and now.
