Ariton tops Goshen in baseball season opener

The reigning and defending Class 2A State Champion Ariton Purple Cats (1-0) opened up the 2025 baseball season with a 10-0 win over the Goshen Eagles (0-1) by a score of 10-0 in five innings. 

Ariton scored four runs in the second inning and six in the fifth. Addison Senn led the Cats at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, two runs and one stolen base. Conner Davidson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Easton Kilpatrick also scored two runs. Landon Givens pitched four innings and he struck out five batters, while giving up five hits and no earned runs. 

For Goshen, Layton Burgans went 2-for-3 at the plate, while also pitching four innings and striking out two batters and giving up just two hits and one earned run. Parks Snyder went 1-for-2 with a double at the plate, while JD Burney went 1-for-2.
