The New Life Christian Eagles and Lady Eagles hosted their first ever playoff games on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Troy SportsPlex.

The boys team lost 61-35 to Chilton. The Eagles fell behind 18-9 at the end of the first quarter and trailed 37-19 at halftime. Chilton held a 50-23 lead going into the final frame. New Life outscored Chilton 12-11 in the final period but it wasn’t enough.

Drew Worley led New Life with 17 points, while Christian McBryde added 12 points. Cayman Hamilton led Chilton with 27 points.

The girls team also lost 53-26 to AIM Academy. AIM jumped out to a 12-0 lead early and never looked back. AIM led 13-6 going into the second quarter and held a 21-8 lead at halftime. AIM also outscored New Life 12-10 in the third quarter and 20-8 in the fourth.

New Life’s Karmen Wilson came into the game as the only player in ACAA history to average a triple-double in a season. She led New Life with 19 points in the loss, as well.

While both the boys and girls teams lost in the playoff game, it was the first time that either had made a playoff in the school’s history.
