Charles Henderson, Pike Lib gear up for Sub-Regionals this weekend

The Sub-Regional Round of the AHSAA State Basketball Tournament starts this weekend and the Charles Henderson boys and Pike Lib girls and boys basketball teams will be in action.

The Pike Lib Lady Patriots will travel to Clarke County on Friday night, Feb. 7, at 5 p.m. for the first sub-regional basketball game in school history. The Ariton Lady Purple Cats also travel to Dothan to face Providence Christian in the sub-regionals on Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. The winner of each of those games will play one another in the first round of regionals in Montgomery next week. 

The PLAS boys also play the first sub-regional game in boys Pike Lib history on Feb. 8 at Clarke County at 5 p.m. The Class 2A Regionals start in Montgomery on Feb. 11. The winner of that game will play the winner of Providence Christian vs. Barbour County in the first round of regionals at Garrett Coliseum at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 11. 

The Class 5A, Area 3 Champion Charles Henderson Trojans will host Eufaula in the 5A Sub-Regionals on Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. The Trojans are coming off their fourth straight Area Championship. CHHS has reached at least the Regional Finals in each of the last three seasons, including finishing state runner-up in 2023.

The winner of CHHS vs. Eufaula will play the winner of Williamson vs. LeFlore at the Garrett Coliseum in the first round of the Regional Tournament on Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m.
