Celebration at the Center the place to be

Whoever said that, “if you’re not having fun, it’s not  worth doing.”

Well, there was a lot  fun going on at the Johnson Center for the Arts and it wasn’t even Saturday night.

On Thursday night, the Johnson Center for the Arts hosted “Celebration at the Center and Disco Dinner” at the JCA and The Studio just across the street.

Andrea Pack, Johnson Center for the Arts executive director, said there were no frowns on faces that needed to be wiped away. Everyone had a great time and it showed.

One celebrator said once he got up the steps he had to sit down and rest but he could stand all night at the “Feedin’ Trough.”

The Celebration at the Center and Disco Dinner was a fundraiser for the Johnson Center for the Arts.

All who crowded the JCA and the “formal feedin’ trough” were obviously enjoying just being there. “Friends? What’s better than being with friends?”

Old friends were celebrated as were new friends. And everyone seemed to be in agree that “We’ve got to get together more often.”

“And everyone did seem to have a great time at the Center’s Disco Dinner on Thursday night,” Pack said. “LaRoy Bodiford and Friends put on a superb show and even got guests up and dancing to a few popular pieces from the 1970s.”

Nicholas Chrysson, the emcee, commented that there was enough glitter and glam to remind him of a disco ball.

“The food and décor, the music and the silent auction items were enough to set the stage for the evening,” Pack said. “But, by the end, our guests really brought the fun and the style and, boy, did they live up to everything we had imagined that this night could be and it was.”
