The Tupper Lightfoot Memorial Library in Brundidge is “Remembering Our Roots” during the month of February.

Diane Childers, library director, said a special event is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, February 22, and everyone is invited.

“Our storyteller for the program for ‘Remembering Our Roots’ Black History program will be Altheal Randolph with music by Henry Everett,” Childers said. “In addition to an outstanding presentation, refreshments will be available with time to share our own stories while enjoying the fellowship of friends and neighbors.”

Although “Tupper’s friends” are looking forward to the Black History Month event, Childers invites and encourages parents to bring their children to sign up for library cards and check out books of their special interests.

All ages are invited to participate in Tupper’s February Reading  Challenge and read something  old and something new.“ And, adults are invited to participate in the Winter Read, a “Prize Drawing for Adults.”

“We encourage our adult patrons to warm up with a good book from now until March 19, to earn a small prize and enter to win, Childers said.

An Adult Valentine Paint Program, “Love Me, Gnome Me” is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 8, to paint a Valentine’s Day gnome door hanger. Only 10 slots are available, so call or stop by the library to participate.
