he Brundidge City Council held its first meeting of the month on Monday night at Brundidge City Hall.

The council worked from a five-item agenda including items involving increases in the mayor and council salaries and a per diem for the mayor and council with both being effective for the next administration.

The Brundidge City Council members’ salaries are $500 a month or $6,000 annually. The Brundidge City Council meets twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays.

The council receives a $60 daily per diem for actual travel expense for the mayor and council when participating in official city business.

The council also considered providing the mayor with a cell phone effective for the next administration. The council voted against providing the city’s mayor a cell phone.
