On Tuesday, Troy Volleyball senior Tori Hester was named honorable mention on the All-South Region, presented by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
Hester becomes the first Trojan to ever earn AVCA All-Region honors. Hester also earned All-Sun Belt First-Team, Sun Belt Player of the year and Offensive Player of the Year. She led the Sun Belt with 536 kills, 5.10 kills per set, 607.5 total points and 5.79 points per set. She finished her Troy career as the school’s all-time leader in kills, kills per set and total points.
“This is a really special honor for Tori,” Troy head coach Josh Lauer said. “She has had a season full of firsts for a Troy Volleyball player and now she can add All-Region to that list of accomplishments. It is well deserved, and I appreciate all the regional coaches who recognized Tori’s achievements this year.”
She wrapped up her Troy career on a 48-match double-digit kill streak, which led all active Division I athletes. Hester also was a solid on defense for Troy, earning 45 blocks and 269 digs this season. Hester completed her Troy career with 1,767 kills, 71 assists, 155 aces, 1,127 digs and 164 blocks.
