Every day words are spoken; words are heard and words are written.
Members of the Brundidge Rotary Club understand the importance of words. So, each year the Rotarians present a gift of words to each third grade student at school with in the county.
Rotarian Cot Wallace said members of the Brundidge Rotary Club will visit each third grade classroom and present each student with a special gift—the gift of words.
Wallace said each student will receive a “Webster’s Dictionary for Students” with his or her name written inside. The personal gift is encouragement for each student to take pride in ownership and to understand that words are important, whether spoken, heard or written. Words are how the world communicates.
The “Webster’s Dictionary for Students” is filled with more than terms and definitions.
It also includes maps, facts about U.S. presidents and many things of interest for students as they continue their education.
The Brundidge Rotarians will present personal dictionaries to third grade students Pike County, Goshen and Banks elementary schools, New Life Christian, Covenant Christian and Collegedale Christian.
