Pike Lib earns area sweep over Zion Chapel

The Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots earned a 3-0 sweep over the Zion Chapel Lady Rebels in a Class 2A, Area 3 volleyball match on Tuesday.
Pike Lib defeated Zion Chapel 25-21, 25-15 and 25-17 in all three sets. Emma Baker led Pike with seven kills, two blocks, three digs and one assist, while Anna Cate Friday tallied six kills, four blocks and one dig. Amy Ramage earned four kills, 10 assists and five digs, while Camryn Brown added six kills, nine digs and two aces. Haylie Brown totaled 10 digs, two assists and one kill, while Alissa Barron earned two kills, seven digs and two aces. Riley Burket earned five aces and four digs.
For Zion Chapel, London Williams earned five aces, four blocks and two kills, while Riley Bannin tallied three kills and seven assists. Shea Wambles earned 23 digs and one kill, while Landry Hataway dished 17 assists with 11 digs. Addyson Townsend totaled one block and three kills, while Maggie Downing had two kills and Kelsey LeGear earned 15 digs. Charlotte Sanders earned four blocks.
Pike Lib travels to Lee-Scott Academy on Oct. 3 and hosts Luverne in an area match on Oct. 8.
