Pike County travels to Opp as region play continues

The Pike County Bulldogs (1-1, 1-0) will look to keep their momentum going this Friday, Sept. 13, on the road at the Opp Bobcats 2-0, 1-0) in a Class 4A, Region 2 contest.

Pike County is coming off a last-second region win over Geneva last week. Quarterback A’Zorhee Eutsey threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Braylin Jackson with 15 seconds left to lift PCHS to the win.

The Bulldogs earned 276 yards of offense in the win with Jackson tallying 109 yards and a touchdown on the ground along with two catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. Eutsey completed 5-of-13 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Ben Patterson rattled off 10 tackles, three tackles-for-loss and a sack, while Khalil Foster earned five tackles and two interceptions.

Opp is coming off a close 30-27 win over New Brockton last week and beat Northview (Fla.) by a score of 34-7 in week one.

Pike County holds a 14-9 lead in the all-time series with Opp but has lost the last two matchups, including a 28-27 loss last season.

Pike County travels to Opp on Friday and the two teams will meet at 7 p.m. at Channell Lee Field.
