Goshen looks to remain unbeaten against Calhoun

The Goshen Eagles (2-0, 1-0) will look to remain undefeated this Friday, Sept. 13, as they host the Calhoun Tigers (0-3, 0-1) in a Class 2A, Region 3 game.
Goshen is coming off a resounding 44-21 win over Zion Chapel in a region contest last week on the road. Goshen rolled up 459 yards of offense against ZCHS, 434 yards on the ground. Quarterback Jayden McNabb had a jaw-dropping stat line in the win with 310 yards and two touchdowns rushing on 23 carries along with a 24-yard touchdown pass. McNabb averaged more than 13 yards per carry in the win. Szemerick Andrews also rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns and Tyler McLendon caught a 24-yard touchdown pass and rushed for 49 yards.
On defense, Josh Terry tallied eight tackles, two tackles-for-loss and two sacks, while Landon Chandler earned six tackles, one tackle-for-loss and one sack. RB Allen earned nine tackles, three tackles-for-loss and two sacks. McNabb earned an interception and McLendon returned four kickoffs for 128 yards and a touchdown.
This season, McNabb has rushed for 566 yards and five touchdowns – averaging 189 yards rushing per game – along with 156 yards and two touchdowns passing. Andrews has tallied 209 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Allen leads the Goshen defense with 29 tackles, three tackles-for-loss and two sacks, while Chandler has amassed 26 tackles, a tackle-for-loss and sack and Terry has earned 24 tackles, three tackles-for-loss and three sacks.
Calhoun is coming off a 40-0 loss to Pike Lib last week. The Tigers have been outscored 91-8 this season and have won just five games in the last nine seasons. Goshen holds the edge 11-1 all-time over Goshen, winning the last 11straight against the Tigers. The Eagles won the last matchup between the two sides in 2019 by a score of 57-0. Goshen has shutout Calhoun in three straight games.
