Bulldog rec team at home Saturday morning

Things will be barking in Brundidge on Saturday mornings and for good reason.

The City of Brundidge Bulldogs Recreation football team will on the field,

The city’s 2024 recreation football season is fielding about 75 Brundidge Bulldogs and, cheering them on will be about 100 cheerleaders.

“Or, maybe that’s closer to 110,” said Willie Wright, Brundidge City Manager. “We are excited about the number of football players out for recreation football this year. They are the Bulldogs of the future and we want to support them and the cheerleaders because they are what community football is all about.”

Wright said the City of Brundidge only requires a minimal amount to suit a player from the helmet to the shoes.

“We want every kid who wants to play recreation football here in Brundidge to have that opportunity,” Wright said. “The youngster will be the Pike County High School Bulldogs of the future.”

Wright said it is important for the team members to have a good experience in Rec football so they will be eager to get on the field as a Pike County High School Bulldog. Recreation football will help our program grow and we are excited about the number of kids who are participating.

The Brundidge Recreation Bulldogs are playing a tough schedule including Ozark, Troy and Luverne, with each team hosting a game(s).

Game time for the games are 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m.

Admission is charged. At Bulldog Stadium tickets are $5 for adults; kids are free

Saturday game time is 8:30.
