Troy All-Stars compete in Dixie Junior Boys World Series

The Troy All-Stars, representing Alabama, traveled to South Carolina this past weekend to compete in the Dixie Junior Boys World Series.
Troy started out the World Series with a dominant 17-1 win over South Carolina on July 26. Porter Beasley led Troy at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and one run. Cole Davis went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs, while Ryan Copeland went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs.
Beasley struck out two batters and gave up no hits or runs in two and 2/3 innings pitched. Dru Jinright pitched one and 1/3 innings and gave up one hit and one earned run with two strikeouts.
On Saturday, Troy lost 11-0 to Mississippi in the second round. Connor Sanders and Bryson Rhett each earned one hit in the loss. Copeland pitched four innings and struck out a pair of batters.
On Sunday, Troy was eliminated from the World Series after a 10-3 loss to Louisiana. Davis led Troy at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs, while Beasley earned an RBI and a double. Davis scored two runs. Beasley pitched three and 2/3 innings with six strikeouts.
