Troy 8U All-Stars remain undefeated in Dixie Darlings World Series

The Troy 8U All-Stars went 3-0 this weekend at the Dixie Darlings Softball World Series in Virginia.
Troy opened the World Series with a 2-1 win over Louisiana that started on Friday and had to be completed on Saturday after weather delays. Kinsley Cox went 1-for-2 at the plate for Troy with a run, while Sawyer Blair scored the other Alabama run. Birdy Stephens pitched all five innings and gave up one earned run.
Later on Saturday, Troy throttled Florida by a score of 11-0. Collins Folmar went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, while Cox went 3-for-3 with a double, one RBI and two runs. Zalaiya Reynolds went 2-for-2 with two triples, four RBIs and one run. Brooklee Kilpatrick struck out two batters and gave up one hit and no runs in two innings pitched.
Troy followed things up on Sunday with a 9-0 victory over South Carolina to advance to the World Series Semifinals. Zalaiya Reynolds went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Cox went 2-for-3 with a triple and one run. Birdy Stephens, Claire Dixon, Collins Folmar and Sawyer Blair each earned a double, while Kensley Wallace hit a triple. Andi Smith pitched three innings and Kilpatrick pitched two with both earning a shutout.
The Troy All-Stars play in the semifinals on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
