Mernette Bray is a member of the Brundidge Historical Society, sponsor of the annual Pike Piddlers Storytelling Festival at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge and the Trojan Center Theater on the campus of Troy University.

Bray said Ellis is from Appalachia but has made her home for many years in Texas.

“She is an amazing storyteller,” Bray said. “When Elizabeth tells a story it’s like sitting on the front porch listening to your grandmother. Her soft, Southern voice brings you close to her and deeply into the story.”

Bray said Ellis’ two stories are timely and heartwarming.

“At this time in our lives, we need to hear stories of hope and courage,” she said. “Here at home and around the world, we all have hope for a better tomorrow and for the courage to face whatever is before us. Mother’s Day is a special day for us to honor or remember our mothers. Elizabeth’s story of her mom will bring our mothers closer to us.”

Bray encourages all those who enjoy well-told and heartwarming stories to join Elizabeth Ellis for two nights of storytelling.

After registering for the either concert, a confirmation will be sent; containing information about joining the concert. If you don’t have Zoom, its free. Sign up at htt://zoom.us/pricing.  The concerts are free but donations are appreciated at PayPal.me/EEllis603.
