Charlotte Fuller missed seeing her friends at church, so she decided to reach out and deliver a little bit of cheer during a scary time.

The Fullers are members of Bush Baptist Church in Troy. With playdates limited and church not meeting due to social distancing restrictions, young Charlotte, her sister Ellie and their mother Ashley decided to reach out to her friends and their families by delivering some special packages on Wednesday.

“She wrote some cards and drew some pictures,” Ashley Fuller said. “She gave out some candy and some Publix cookies because all of the kids are missing those cookies these last few weeks. We just stuck them in people’s mailboxes for a little surprise.”

Charlotte and the rest of her family have had a lot of fun delivering their packages to their friends. Despite the long trips in the car, Charlotte made sure to finish the job.

“We had a lot of fun with it,” Fuller said. “She was excited and fired up about writing her little notes and when we were out putting them in the mailboxes, we were probably in the car for about two hours delivering them to the mailboxes. She was still wanting to get out of the car and put it in herself. I think it’s important to let them know how to spread joy to people even though you can’t physically see them.”

With the threat of the coronavirus expected to continue, the Fullers hope to continue passing out cards and treats.

“We are mostly sending it all out to our church friends right now,” Fuller said, “Maybe if we can get some more, we’ll start putting some stuff in other people’s mailboxes too.”

The Fullers’ friends who have received the snacks were quick to express their gratitude. “They were all our church friends and they all text us telling us thank you,” Fuller said.
