The Troy Arts Council will kick off its 2020 season with a membership event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 10 at The Studio on East Walnut Street in downtown Troy.

Bill Hopper, TAC president, said all those interested in the arts, whether it be the visual arts, music, theater or dance, are invited to attend and learn more about the activities, events and benefits of the TAC.

“The Troy Arts Council’s calendar will have something for everyone who has interest in the arts,” Hopper said. “The membership event will feature live music provided by the band ‘12Eleven’ and information will be available about the entertainment events, about membership and the benefits of membership for the year 2020.”

And the benefits will begin almost immediately with the TAC 2020 kickoff event, ARTrageous, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, at the Claudia Crosby Theater on the campus of Troy University.

The TAC’s 2020 Arts Entertainment Calendar includes “Chanticleer at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in March; “CATS” in partnership with Troy University productions in April and the Southeast Alabama Community Band Concert at the Crosby Theater in May.

In October, the TAC and the Troy University Department of Theater and Dance will present “A Celebration of American Theater” at the Trojan Center Theater. In November, “Sail On,” a Beach Boy Tribute will take center stage at the Crosby Theater and the entertainment calendar will close in December with the Shelia Jackson and Friends Holiday Concert.

If that’s not entertainment, what is? Hopper said.

And, that does not include the other activities and event opportunities afforded to TAC members.

Hopper said the Troy Arts Council memberships range from a $100 sponsor that includes one season ticket. That ticket includes all of the events sponsored by the TAC.

“And, we are offering a patron membership,” Hopper said. “This special membership will include three season tickets for $150.”

A Grand Patron membership includes three season tickets for $200, a Promoter membership is $275 and includes four season tickets. A $350 Benefactor membership includes five season tickets and a Grand Benefactor includes six season tickets for $450.

Hopper said no matter which level of membership one choses the entertainment and other benefits of membership are more than worth the price.

“We have a great season of arts entertainment planned and also look forward to the fellowship of membership,” he said.
