The Pike County Commission held a special meeting on Monday to change a polling place in District 4 for the upcoming election.

The commission voted unanimously to change Precinct 18 in District 4 from Little Oak Country Store to Scott Farm Supply at the request of new owners at Little Oak.

“We were contacted the week of November 18 by the new owners of the store at the corner of Little Oak Road and Henderson Highway and were told they no longer wanted it to be a polling place,” said District 4 Commissioner Chad Copeland. “Our deadline to have everything in to the board of registrars is Tuesday, Dec. 3, so we were in a really big time crunch. It’s a small, mainly rural district and the only other store really in that precinct is Scott Farm Supply, so we approached them about putting us put it there and they were happy to let us move it there.”
