Readers of The Messenger can now choose their favorite local places that they believe are the “Pick of Pike” in the annual Reader’s Choice competition.

Readers have numerous categories to select from, including everything from “Best dumplings” to “loan officer” to “best kept secret.”

The contest gives readers a chance to publicly congratulate the people and businesses providing exceptional goods and services in Pike County,

The winning businesses and individuals will receive certificate to show everyone the support that the readers have given to them.

The winners aren’t the only ones up for a reward from the competition either. All voters are automatically entered for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to a winning business of their choice.

There are numerous ways for voters to share their selections. A paper ballot is included on page 8 of today’s edition of The Messenger. Readers can simply tear or cut out the page, fill in their answers and mail it in to The Messenger at P.O. Box 727, Troy, AL 36081 or bring it in to the office at 918 S. Brundidge St.

Applications can also be filled out electronically online at The Messenger website at www.troymessenger.com.

The deadline to submit entries is 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11.
