Murder trial begins Wednesday

Xavier Hakeem Thomas, 22, was sitting in his car at Walding Circle in Brundidge on June , 2017, when he was shot and killed.
Wednesday, three people will stand trial to face charges for his murder.
Jacory Townsend, Demarcus Flowers and Tige Townsend stand charged with Thomas’s murder. Investigators believe Jacory Townsend pulled the trigger, and Flowers and Tige Townsend are also charged with murder under Alabama’s complicity statute.
Brundidge Police Chief Moses Davenport said at the time of the murder that Thomas had been struck by multiple gunshots.
The trial will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Pike County Courthouse. The trial is expected to last at least two days.
