Man shot, injured in Brundidge

A 24-year-old Andalusia man was the victim of a drive-by shooting in Brundidge around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Brundidge Police Chief Moses Davenport said Devin Davenport was standing in the driveway at 325 Fleming Street when the shooting occurred.

“The bullet apparently hit him in the chest on the left side and exited through the armpit on the opposite side,” Davenport said. “The victim was transported by private vehicle to Troy Regional Medical Center and airlifted to Baptist South in Montgomery.”

Davenport said the victim could not identify the shooter or the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation.

“This will be a thorough investigation,” Davenport said.
