A Troy man has been charged with multiple felony drug offenses after an officer on foot patrol reported finding 48 plastic bags of a substance that appeared to be marijuana and 14 plastic bags of a substance that tested positive for cocaine.

Terry Tyshon Baker, 24, is charged with first-degree possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a pistol without a permit.

“Baker, along with another subject were occupying a vehicle, parked in a parking lot,” said Troy Police Chief Randall Barr. “While contacting the occupants, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.”

Baker was arrested on the scene and booked into the Pike County Jail on $8,000 bond.

First-degree possession of marijuana is a Class C Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and possession of a controlled substance is a Class D Felony punishable by up to 5 years.

The case is still under investigation.
