“The other victim was a 39-year-old male from Luverne,” Barr said. “This subject was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated for his injuries and released from the emergency room.”

Officers secured the scene while the Troy Fire Department and Haynes Ambulance could aid the injured men.

Once the victims were transported from the scene, officers began their investigation and have identified a suspect, who Barr said is working with investigators at this time. He did not release the name of the suspect.

No charges have been filed, but Barr said the facts of the case have been presented to the Pike County District Attorney’s Office and the case will be presented to a grand jury at a later date.

The police urge anyone with information pertaining this case to inform police officers by calling the non-emergency line at 334-566-0500 or the secret witness line at 334-566-5555.

The case remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
