Roy “Doc” Griffin Holladay

Roy “Doc” Griffin Holladay, 65, of the Meeksville community died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Troy Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Columbia, SC on May 4, 1952.  He graduated from Charles Henderson High School. Mr. Holladay worked in construction for 42 years, 30 of which he served as a superintendent.  He loved to fish and hunt.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Brother Joey Jackson officiating.  Interment will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Holladay was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Evelyn Holladay; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Tommy Adams; brother-in-law, Ronnie Mize and sister-in-law Nancy Schlehmeier.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Floyd Holladay of Meeksville; son, Rory Holladay of Enterprise; sister, Mary Ann Mize of Valley, Ala. and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Ray W. Floyd, Daniel Wilson, Mike Adams, Jason Adams, Zack Wilson and Chris Schlehmeier.  Honorary pallbearers will be the CHHS Class of 1971.

The family request that instead of flowers, memorials be made to Hales Chapel at 4964 County Road 2201, Goshen, AL 36035 or your favorite charity.
