CHMS swept by Auburn

The Charles Henderson Middle School Trojans were swept by Auburn Middle School in their final home series of the 2018 season on Friday night in Troy.

The Trojans dropped game one 10-1 before falling 23-5 in game two.

Brady Huner got the start for the Trojans in game one. Huner allowed three runs, two of which were earned on six hits and four walks. Mario Davenport and Daryl Lee also made an appearance in game one.

The Trojans finished with four hits in the loss. Noah Prestwood, Lee, Will Templin and Huner all had a hit in the loss.

The Trojans’ only run came in the first inning when Damien Hart drove in Lee with a single.

Auburn wouldn’t score their first run of the game until the third, but added two more in the fourth and seven in the fifth to blow the game wide open.

Press Jefcoat got the start for the Trojans in game two. He allowed seven overall runs, six of which were earned on just two hits and three walks.

The Trojans finished with three hits by Cobi Cantlow, Kevin Yeoman and Jefcoat.

After falling behind 7-0 in the second game, the Trojans scored three runs in the first when Lee scored on a wild pitch followed by a bases-loaded walk by Huner and a single by Cantlow.

Auburn added five more runs in the second and 11 in the third to go up 23-3.

The Trojans scored their final two runs of the game when Hart scored on an error and when Yeoman drove in Davenport on a single to bring the final score to 23-5.
