Canon said this year’s festival is dedicated to Duane Larson, a bird carver who has been an artist at Piney Woods since 1985.

“Duane estimates he has carved more than 2,000 birds,” she said.

Canon said, as always, this year Pine Wood Arts Festival has an outstanding lineup of artists that create a variety of handcrafted jewelry, pottery and artwork in a variety of mediums, functional and decorative wood items and toys.

Jarrod Alberich, a “Yard Sale Artist’ and comic book creator, will be among the participating artists as will Mark Caldwell who creates copper insects, frogs, hummingbirds, fish and flower.

Lindsay Farms will be on the festival grounds with Southern gourmet food products,

Festival hours are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, and from noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 8.
