Joe Frank Harrison, 87, of Banks, passed away at his home Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born January 13, 1931 to Leon and Ruby Mitchell Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Mary Louise Harrison. Joe Frank was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as an auto body repairman for over 50 years. He was an avid collector of antiques and historical memorabilia and was known as the honorary mayor of Tanyard. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jordan Harrison; his children: Angie (Ronnie) Adams, Susan (Doran) Burton and Barbara (Larry) Sanders; his brother, Gene Harrison; sisters, Myrtice Benton, Hazel Mobley and Lillian Helms; his seven grandchildren: Shay Alderman, Alex Adams, Will Dunn, Cody Sanders, Peyton Sanders, Molly Kate Sanders and Owen Sanders; and one great-grandchild, Avery Alderman.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. from Gray Funeral Home in Union Springs. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from Loflin Baptist Church with Rev. Mac Moore officiating. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Austin, Roy Hilton, David Trawick, Eugene Harrison and Floyd Johnson.
