Ann Augusta Folmar Montmeat, 102, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Old Lyme, Connecticut.

Ann was born August 7, 1915 in Troy, Alabama to Lois Wiley and Marshall Bibb Folmar. Her grandfather, Oliver Cicero Wiley, had been a member of the United States House of Representatives.  The third of six children, she graduated from Troy High School in 1933, and later attended The University of Alabama. In late August 1942 while working at Maxwell Field, she met John Kurt Montmeat. They were married on October 10, 1942 and lived in New Canaan, Connecticut for over 50 years where Ann was Assistant Town Clerk. Ann loved travelling with her husband to visit the great museums in Europe.  She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Ann is survived by a sister, Miriam Folmar of Atlanta; her son Jay Montmeat and daughter-in-law Yvonne Montmeat, both of Old Lyme; daughter Martha Harre and son-in-law James Harre of Alta Loma, Calif.; five grandchildren, Kendall Creighton of Berlin, Germany; James Harre Jr. of Longmeadow, Mass.; Ashley Harre of Portland, Oregon; Jack Montmeat of Old Lyme, and Brit Montmeat of Vernon; nieces and nephews and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ann was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years John Kurt Montmeat; her parents Lois Wiley and Marshall Bibb Folmar; her step-mother Miriam Pearson Folmar; her brothers Wilson Bibb Folmar II, Oliver Wiley Folmar, James Murphree Folmar, and Emory McCord Folmar.
