Trojans fall to Lamp

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans scored a run in each of the last two innings on Tuesday night, but couldn’t climb their way back in a 5-4 loss to Lamp in Montgomery.

Emma Kirkpatrick earned the start on Tuesday night. Kirkpatrick allowed three runs, all of which were earned. She allowed seven hits and two walks, while striking out one.

Molly Kate Sanders pitched the final two innings and allowed two total runs, one earned and allowed one hit.

The Trojans finished the contest with six hits led by Rose Snyder who went 2-4 and Sydni Garrett who went 2-3. Kirkpatrick and Graci Williams picked up the other hits for the Trojans.

The Trojans stormed out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Garrett hit a two-run homerun.

Lamp cut into the Trojans lead in the bottom of the first when they scored a run to bring the score to 2-1.

Lamp took the lead after scoring two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to make the score 5-2.

In the sixth the Trojans inched closer when Garrett came around to score on single by Williams, brining the score to 5-3.

In the seventh the Trojans hit their second homerun of the contest this time off the bat of Kirkpatrick. The Trojans couldn’t cause any more damage in the inning causing them to come one run short.

The Trojans will play on the road against Stanhope Elmore on Thursday.
