Early errors cost the Goshen Lady Eagles in a lopsided 20-5 loss to the Opp Bobcats on Tuesday evening in Goshen.

The loss for the Eagles drops them to 2-1 on the season.

The Eagles were tagged with 7 errors on the night.

Hannah Calhoun got the start for the Eagles in the loss. Calhoun pitched the first four innings in the five-inning contest. She allowed 17 overall runs on 13 hits. Alexis McLendon pitched the fifth and final inning

It was a quick first inning as both pitchers got out of the inning without allowing any damage.

In the second inning, the Eagles allowed 7 runs to touch home plate, none of which were earned. The Eagles had four of their errors in the seven-run inning.

The Eagles battled back in the bottom of the inning when they scored all five of their runs.

Calhoun drove in the first run of the inning when the Bobcats dropped a fly ball, allowing Lydia Harrison to come around to score. Megan Tillery singled in McLendon to bring the score to 7-2. Later in the inning, the Eagles picked up two RBI singles by Kate Warrick and Brooke Bennett to cut their deficit to three at 7-4. Warrick came around to score the final run on a wild pitch.

Two doubles, two singles and an error in the third inning led to four more Bobcat runs to push their lead out to six at 11-5.

In the fourth inning, the Bobcat had a two-run triple and two more singles making the score 17-5.

With McLendon in the pitching circle, the Bobcats scored their final three runs in the fifth with one more double and two singles.
