Bunce throws no-hitter

Starting pitcher Dalton Bunce pitched a no-hitter in Goshen’s 9-1 win over rival Zion Chapel on Thursday evening in Goshen.

The win for the Eagles improves their record on the season to 2-0.

In his no-hit performance, Bunce struck out 14 batters, but walked five.

The Eagles finished with 10 hits and had three players finish with a multi-hit game. McGwire Stanley, Bunce and Tate Phillips all had two hits in the win. The Eagles scored four of their eight runs in the opening inning after picking up RBIs from Stanley and Phillips.

The Eagles will be back in action today when they host Samson beginning at 4 p.m.

Charles Henderson 4 Wicksburg 5

The Charles Henderson Trojans are still in search of their first win of the season after falling to Wicksburg 5-4 on Thursday night.

The Trojans led 4-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, but a 3-run inning gave the Panthers a walk-off victory giving the Trojans an 0-3 start to the season.

Will Reeves started for the Trojans on the mound. Reeves lasted four innings and gave up one unearned run, two hits and three walks. He struck out four batters.

Noah Lowery pitched the next two innings and allowed two runs on five hits and three walks.

The Trojans finished with four hits in the loss. Keonte Brantley led the Trojans at the plate by going 2-3. Caden Bryan and Walker Stallworth picked up the other two hits for the Trojans
