Bulldogs off to 2-0 start

The Pike County Bulldogs remained undefeated on the season when they knocked off the Elba Tiers 9-8 in walk-off fashion on Tuesday evening in Brundidge.

The win for the Bulldogs improves their record on the season to 2-0.

The Bulldogs entered the bottom of the seventh inning trailing 8-6.

Corey Rotton, Charles Brunney and Whit Mauldin all reached base in the inning and all came around to score to give the Bulldogs the one-run win. Joseph Jordan hit a big two-run double with two outs in the inning to even the score at 8.

Julius Allen sent the Bulldog crowd home happy with a game-winning single scoring Jordan for their ninth run of the game.

The Bulldogs also got a double by Rotten and Anquavious Walker in the ball game. Brunney and Juilous Allen added singles.

Brunney got the win for the Bulldogs, but Pike County also got contributions on the mound by Alex Henderson and Mauldin.

The Bulldogs will look to go 3-0 on Thursday when they travel to take on Abbeville beginning at 5:30 p.m.
