Pike County residents woke up to a fresh blanket of snow on Wednesday morning. Although it was fun, it caused businesses to close and schools to cancel classes. Basketball games on Tuesday and Thursday nights weren’t spared as all games from Tuesday evening until Thursday night were either postponed or cancelled. Pike County and Goshen announced their games today will also be postponed.

The Pike Patriots were the only squad to get a non-region or nonconference game cancelled. The Patriots were scheduled to take on Edgewood Tuesday evening.

Unlike the Patriots, the Eagles postponed game was against area foe Calhoun. The girls, junior varsity and varsity games were all postponed due to the threat of weather. The games will be made up on Saturday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. It was announced late Thursday afternoon that due to the lingering threat of icy roads, all school and athletic events for Friday would also be cancelled.
