Perry and Troy head coach Neal Brown were once teammates at the University of Kentucky. Perry later became a graduate assistant at Kentucky in 2001 and 2002 before assuming the same position at Baylor the following year.

In 2004, Perry returned to the state of Kentucky to coach at Washington County until 2010.

Perry assumed his first head coaching position in 2011 at Central Hardin before taking over at Lexington Catholic, where he has coached for the last four seasons.

During his time at Lexington Catholic, Perry led his team to a state championship berth in 2015 and region finals in each of the last two seasons.

Troy has yet to officially announce the hiring of Perry and couldn’t be reached for comment.
