Patriots defeat Autauga

The Pike Liberal Arts boy’s basketball team picked up a comfortable 55-30 win over Autauga Academy in their home opener on Tuesday afternoon inside the Patriot Oven.

The win for the Patriots improves their record on the season to 2-1.

The Patriots had two men finish in double figures in the win led by senior Reed Jinright’s 14 and Javon Christian finished with 12. Ethan Green flirted with double figures before finishing with seven points, while Jade Sikes and Cole McWhorter both had six.

The Lady Patriots were also in action on Tuesday evening inside the Patriot Oven. They fell to Autauga 38-12. The loss for the Lady Patriots drops their overall record on the season to 0-3.

The Patriots were held scoreless in the opening quarter before scoring four points in the second, third and fourth quarters.

Tiffany Johnson led the Patriots in scoring with six points.

Both squads will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Auburn to take on Lee-Scott beginning with the junior varsity boys team at 4 p.m.
