Three charged with burglary

Three Ozark residents have been arrested and charged with an October burglary in Troy in which police say they physically assaulted two residents.

Zarmayah Chabretale Tyson, 21; Johnny James Grubbs, 23; and Zacchaeus Rezin Tyson, 22, have been arrested and charged with burglary first degree in relation to the incident.

The burglary occurred October 1 in the 500 block of State Avenue.

“According to the report, these subjects forced their way into the occupied residence while at least one of them was armed with a handgun,” Barr said. “Once inside the residence, two of the occupants were physically assaulted and computer equipment was taken.”

Barr said the suspects fled before police arrived, but the victims identified the perpetrators and warrants were made for their arrests.

Zarmayah Tyson was arrested by the Dothan Police Department on

October 22, 2017. Zacchaeus Tyson and Grubbs were arrested by the Ozark Police Department on November 16, 2017.

All were extradited back to Troy where they were processed through the Troy City Jail and incarcerated in the Pike County Jail each charged with a single count of burglary first degree with a $50,000 bond.

The victims reported minor injuries as a result of the burglary.

Burglary first degree is a Class A Felony punishable by 20 years to life in prison.

Burglarizing a resident while armed is defined as burglary first degree under Alabama law.
