Louisiana 47, New Mexico State 34
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Jordan Davis accounted for three TDs and Louisiana intercepted three passes in the fourth quarter for a 47-34 win over New Mexico State on Saturday night.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (5-5, 4-2 Sun Belt) took the lead on Davis’ 33-yard TD pass to Ryheem Malone with 10:21 left. The teams traded punts and then backup quarterback Nick Jeanty threw the first of three late interceptions with Jacques Boudreaux returning it 50 yards to set up a short field for another Cajuns touchdown.

Two plays into New Mexico State’s next possession, Jeanty threw another pick to Justin Middleton over the middle. The Aggies (4-6, 2-4) forced a three-and-out, and Jeanty led the Aggies most of the way down field but threw his third interception — this one to Koa Haynes.

Trey Ragas had 132 yards rushing and two scores for Louisiana. Malone had 113 yards receiving and a TD. Davis passed for 203 yards and two TDs and ran for 71 yards and another score.

Tyler Rogers passed for 184 yards and a touchdown, mostly in the first half for New Mexico State. He left in the third quarter after taking a hit and having his shoulder looked at. The Aggies erased an 18-point deficit before the Cajuns finally pulled away.

Georgia Southern 52, South Alabama 0
STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Wesley Fields and L.A. Ramsby each scored two touchdowns and Georgia Southern got its first win of the year, blasting South Alabama 52-0 Saturday to hand the Jaguars their first-ever shutout in the program’s 101-game history.

Ramsby’s two scores occurred over the first three drives for Georgia Southern (1-9, 1-5 Sun Belt). The Eagles had the ball for 11 minutes of the first quarter as they built a 21-0 lead. Georgia Southern entered the game averaging just five points per game in the first quarter. The Eagles amassed 225 total yards in the quarter to 31 for South Alabama (4-7, 3-4).

Quarterback Shai Werts ran 15 times for 113 yards and a touchdown and threw for 107 yards and a score while Kado Brown completed all four of his passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles had 356 yards rushing and outgained the Jaguars 583-195 in total yards.

Cole Garvin threw for 102 yards and, in relief, Dallas Davis was 8-of-9 passing for 64 yards.

Coastal Carolina 13, Idaho 7
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Alex James scored on a 42-yard run and Coastal Carolina made its longest football trip in history a success, defeating Idaho 13-7 on Saturday to end a nine-game losing streak.

Evan Rabon kicked field goals of 52 yards, which tied his career long, and 34 yards for the Chanticleers (2-9), whose previous longest trip was to Missoula, Montana, for a 2013 FCS playoff game. Coastal Carolina had lost five games by eight points or less.

The Vandals (3-7) went 75 yards in nine plays, capped by Mason Petrino’s 18-yard pass to Alfonso Onunwor on their first possession. Petrino started in place of injured Matt Linehan.

Idaho had 277 yards to 275 for the Chanticleers but the Vandals had eight penalties for 84 yards and they went 5 of 14 on third down and failed on a fourth down at midfield late in the game. They also had a field goal blocked by Amir Howard early in the third quarter

Arkansas State 30, Texas State 12
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Warren Wand ran for 143 yards and one touchdown to help lead Arkansas State to a 30-12 win over Texas State on Saturday afternoon and move into a four-way tie at the top of the Sun Belt Conference.

Wand, who went over 2,000 yards rushing for his career, averaged 4.9 yards a carry against the Bobcats. Justice Hansen threw for 229 yards and one touchdown.

Arkansas State (6-3, 5-1), which is tied with Appalachian State, Georgia State and Troy for the conference lead, spotted Texas State a touchdown before scoring 16 straight to lead 16-6 at halftime.

Damian Williams hit Anthony D. Taylor on an 18-scoring strike for the Bobcats to close to 16-12 early in the third quarter. The Red Wolves answered with Hansen running one in and passing to Kendrick Edwards for another in the third.

Williams threw for 103 yards with one score for the Bobcats (2-9, 1-6).

#6 Auburn 42, ULM 14
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Darius Slayton’s 50-yard scoring catch late in the first half gave No. 6 Auburn the lead and the Tigers pulled away for a 42-14 win over ULM on Saturday to set up next week’s showdown with the Crimson Tide.

Auburn (9-2, 6-0, No. 6 CFP) can earn a spot in the Southeastern Conference championship game by beating Alabama in a rivalry in which it’s rare for conference and national implications to mean more than state bragging rights.

Kam Martin scored two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, in the third quarter.

Nick Ruffin scored on a 45-yard interception return in the fourth. Despite a sluggish first half, Auburn’s final production was still impressive: 317 yards rushing and 552 total yards.

The Tigers were tied at 7 with ULM (4-6, 2-4 Sun Belt Conference) late in the first half. It was unusual even in a game where the emphasis was on guarding against a letdown .

ULM coach Matt Viator said he was proud of his team’s play in the first half.

“I think we competed hard and made some plays on defense,” Viator said. “We just could never get a whole lot going on offense the whole game. We turned it over in the second half. Give them credit, they’re really good. They are hard to move the ball against.”

Auburn took the lead on Slayton’s bomb from Stidham with 1:27 remaining in the half.

Auburn pulled away in the third quarter. Stidham added a 41-yard touchdown pass to Martin, who also scored on a 1-yard run.

Cornerback Javaris Davis had an interception and a forced fumble in a span of about two minutes late in the third quarter to help Auburn take control.

The Warhawks opened with a 13-play touchdown drive. Wide receiver Brian Williams scored on an end-around run on fourth down. Williams scored again on a 70-yard pass from Garrett Smith with less than 6 minutes remaining.

Malik Miller had a 1-yard touchdown run for Auburn.

The Warhawks frustrated Auburn most of the first half but struggled to move the ball after their impressive opening drive. Caleb Evans completed only 9 of 25 passes for 86 yards and had 10 carries for 34 yards before ULM turned to Smith, the backup, in the second half. ULM said Evans was not injured.
