When Clint Norman was nominated to be a part of the 2017-2018 Men in Pink fundraising campaign for Pike County, he didn’t hesitate.

“It was an honor and a privilege to be asked to be a part of this big fight,” Norman said. “Our family has been fortunate that we have not been personally involved in the fight against cancer. But we all know someone who has battled cancer and that’s why I wanted to do what I could to help find cures for the different kinds of cancer.”

Every day efforts are being made to find more effective ways to fight cancer and to ultimately find cures for all cancers.

Norman said research and development takes dollars so his fundraiser for the Men in Pink campaign is a 3 Person Scramble golf tournament on Monday, October 30 at Troy Country Club.

The three people can be men, women, boys or girls and of any age.

“It’s going to be a fun tournament and anybody that wants to take a swing at cancer is invited to play,” Norman said.

The entry fee is $100 per person or $300 a team.

“Companies might want to enter a team or might just want to sponsor a team,” Norman said. “If a business or industry wants to sponsor a team and needs players, we’ll be glad to build a team for them.”

There are also hole sponsorships available for $100.

“There will be signs on the holes that designate the sponsor of that hole,” Norman said.

The winners of the tourney will receive cash prizes and there will also be a bundle of door prizes.

“There will be a wide variety of prizes from gift cards, to tool sets, to maps of the United States,” Norman said with a smile. “If there are those who would like to donate door prizes, they will be greatly appreciated.

The deadline for entry in the Men in Pink 3 Person Scramble is 5 p.m. on Monday, October 23.
