Bulldogs bite the Panthers

The Pike County Bulldogs picked up a 48-13 region win over the Panthers on Friday evening in Prattville.

The win for the Bulldogs improves their record on the season to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in region play.

The Bulldogs finished with 405 yards of total offense on Friday night, all of which came on the ground.

The Bulldogs ran the ball a total of 47 times and they were led by Jahzarian Lampley who rushed for 213 yards on 20 carries. Lampley also scored three touchdowns. Rayshawn Reynolds ran for 99 yards on seven carries and scored one touchdown. The Bulldogs also had rushing touchdowns from Darrick Myhand Jr., Kevon Harris and Zion Scott.

Lampley didn’t only get it done on the ground on Friday, he also led the team in tackles with six, while Jeremiah Foster had 5.5, and Rayshawn Reynolds had five.

Scott got the Bulldogs on the board with a 13-yard run to give Pike County a 7-0 lead.

Reynolds followed suit with a 72-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs scored two more touchdowns to go up 28-0 when Lampley ran the ball in from 14 yards out and 55 yards out.

The Panthers got on the board in the third quarter on a seven-yard touchdown run to pull them within 21 points.

Lampley ran for his third touchdown of the night from two yards away to increase the Bulldogs lead to 35-7.

Harris scored form three yards out and after the Panthers scored their final touchdown, Myhand took a handoff 52 yards for the Bulldogs final touchdown.

Pike County will travel to Beulah for their final region contest of the year next Friday night.
