Lady Trojans and Bulldogs earn victories, Eagles fall to Ariton

The Charles Henderson Lady Trojans picked up wins 13 and 14 win of the season on Monday evening when they knocked off Geneva Country 25-15, 23-25 and 15-9. They followed that up with a win over Elba 20-25, 25-9 and 15-11.

Against Geneva County Rose Snyder led the Trojans with seven kills. Victoria Mahone had six kills while Tanner Moore and Abigail Salmon each had five.

Against Elba, Moore led the Trojans with 12 kills, Salmon had five, and Sydney Watson and Mahone each had four.

“I am really proud of how our team stepped up tonight,” said head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick. “We had to make some roster adjustments as we were leaving the parking lot…Players were put into roles that thy were unaccustomed to being in and I am really proud of the way our team bonded together. Everyone had a part in our win. I am Really proud of our girls and our worth ethic.

The Trojans will be back on the court in Greenville this afternoon.

 

Pike County defeats Abbeville

 

The Pike County Lady Bulldogs knocked off the Abbeville Yellow Jackets in five sets on Monday afternoon 25-12, 23-25, 20-25, 25-20, 15-9.

Precious Vaznaian finished the game with 10 kills and five aces, while Senkeithia Thompson had eight aces, 14 assists and three blocks. Keeyah Rodgers finished with seven blocks and seven kills.

The win improves the Bulldogs record to 5-3.

 

Eagles fall in five to Ariton

 

The varsity Eagles fought hard in Monday’s makeup game with the Purple Cats, but fell in five 25-22, 20-25, 25-20, 17-25, 18-20. The loss drops the Eagles record to 11-7.

Kelsey Gibson had two aces, six points scored, 28 kills, two blocks and 10 digs. Jada Hall had three points scored, 20 kills, two blocks and eight digs. Kate Warrick finished with two aces and nine points scored, 58 assists and 10 digs, while Hannah Calhoun had two aces and 11 points scored with two kills and 35 digs. Molly wars had two aces, seven points scored, one kill and 16 digs.
