Betty Peel McGilvray

Betty Peel McGilvray, age 71 of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. formerly of Troy died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Fort Walton beach. Betty was a school teacher and taught for 44 years in the public school system.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Estelle Byrd and Voncile Green and the staff of Meridian Assisted living in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Green

Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Mallone Chandler and Reverend Wayne Locklar officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include daughters Stephanie McGilvray and Stacey McGilvray; son and daughter-in-law Stan and Desirea McGilvray; grandchildren Ryan Elizabeth McGilvray and Brantley McGilvray; sisters Virginia Fountain and Jeannette Morrow; sister-in-law Jean Peel. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George Dewey Peel and Berta Beaty Peel; her brothers, Eugene Peel, Mack (Chris) Peel, Thomas Peel and a brother-in-law,John Morrow.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
